Ah! Such a wonderfull, vibrant image! It made me smile, it seems to have a sense of humour about it. And its virtually monochrome with all that blue =D)

Thank you. I took this one on the walk back from the beach. I was actually trying to get a shot of some red berries in a tree above it, and this plant kept poking me. I look down and thought How pretty! This picture turned out better than the berry one!

And I agree with you about not needing a good camera. It is all in the composition. But, I LOVE my new Nikon D40!! I get excited every time I'm able to do something a little different with it.

Beautiful composition! You don't always need an expensive camera to make nice images...

Anne, thanks for your comment and advice. I'm so new with this camera. I'm learning about ISO...as you can tell, I haven't mastered it yet. As a matter of fact, on that day I didn't even know what ISO was! I did a little editing after in Picasa but can't remember what I did exactly.

I love photos of the sea and boats and this is a good one. Only problem I see is that you used 1600 ISO on a sunny day? It has made quite a bit of grain in your sky. Try using the lowest ISO you can shoot with - especially in bright good weather! I only ever resort to 1600 when the light is going - practically dark - and I am hand holding the camera. The sky is a beautiful blue - did you use a polarizing filter or did you saturate the blue in post processing!
